Student opportunities and activities
At Canley Vale High School, we provide a wide range of programs—both in the classroom and across the school—that help students build new skills, form strong friendships and explore their interests. These opportunities enrich learning, strengthen wellbeing and allow every student to shine in their own way.
Our programs may include:

Our extra-curricular highlights
After School Study Centre
Study Centre provides a quiet environment that encourages students to achieve the goals they are striving for. Students will have access to computers for research and support in completing homework and assessments.
Study Centre operates on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:20 pm to 4:30 pm.

Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is established at CVHS to ensure that every student is able to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning.
Cereal, toast, fresh fruit and many other products are provided to all students from 8:00am – 8:30am in the Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
GreenForce
An established club that reinforces the school's commitment to protecting the environment. Students’ duties include implementing recycling and gardening programs that consist of maintaining, watering plants and planting new gardens.

The WOW Project (War on Waste)
Together as staff and students, we believe it is important to take action on cleaning up our school environment and learning areas. A team of students has been assembled, and as WoW Ambassadors, they have taken charge of this environmental movement. Under the leadership of the Year 12 WoW Prefect, this team aims to show how CVHS can be consistent in its genuine care of our shared space. Please see SRC coordinators for more information.
Running Club
Every Tuesday from 7:30 am to 8:00 am.
The Running Club is here to help promote attendance and engagement and to encourage students to take ownership of the fitness and development.

Soccer Club
Every Tuesday 3:20 pm to 4:45 pm.
Organised for selected students who have made it through the soccer try outs, the aim of the program is to improve on their fundamental soccer skills, leadership abilities and social skills through team work.
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
