We proudly marked our 60th anniversary with a special celebration, inviting the community and alumni to join us in commemorating six decades of excellence in learning and achievement. The day was filled with fun activities for students, culminating in a BBQ lunch that brought everyone together to celebrate our school’s rich history and vibrant community spirit.
Our 2026 School Captains proudly represented Canley Vale High School at the Remembrance Day service held at Cabravale Club Resort. They paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served, laying a wreath on behalf of our school community. It was a meaningful opportunity for our leaders to model respect, reflection, and civic responsibility, while connecting with the wider community in honouring this important day.
Canley Vale High School proudly hosted the annual Digital Olympics, an exciting celebration of technology, creativity, and collaboration. Led by our Year 10 STEM students, with the dedicated support of Mr J. Bhagchadani and Miss K. Diamante, the event brought together over 120 students from five Fairfield District primary schools to compete in a day filled with innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork.
We celebrated the achievements of our Year 12 students on Graduation Day, marking the end of their journey at Canley Vale High School. Families, staff and peers came together to honour their hard work, growth and accomplishments. It was a joyful occasion filled with pride, reflection, and best wishes as our graduates embark on the next chapter of their lives.
We are proud of Year 8 student Jason, who showcased his talent by performing guitar on stage at the 2025 Public Education Awards. His performance was a wonderful example of creativity, dedication, and the opportunities our school provides for students to shine beyond the classroom.
Congratulations to Year 11 students Christine T, Selina H and Katherine T, who were awarded scholarships from the Public Education Foundation. Their hard work, dedication and commitment to learning have been recognised, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements and the opportunities these scholarships provide for their future studies.
Canley Vale High School proudly continues its tradition of excellence in the Tournament of Minds. This year, five teams of Years 7–10 students participated, with three groups achieving Honours. Our Year 11 students served as mentors, supporting and guiding the younger teams, showcasing leadership, collaboration, and the school’s strong culture of creativity and problem-solving.
Canley Vale High School celebrated Book Week with a range of engaging activities that encouraged a love of reading and storytelling. Students and staff participated in themed events, shared their favourite books, and enjoyed creative activities that brought stories to life, fostering imagination, curiosity, and a lifelong passion for learning.
TheatresportsTM is an improvisation-based theatre format that both entertains and educates performers and audiences. It is a team-based theatre competition designed for students to create dynamic and engaging performances through spontaneity, storytelling, and supportive play. Students develop improv skills while fostering collaboration and creativity in a fun and interactive environment.
Year 11 Diverse Learners students created abstract self-portraits as part of their unit, The Artist’s Practice. They explored the work of influential self-portrait artists and experimented with abstract techniques, expressing their creativity and developing their artistic skills.
Canley Vale High School honoured ANZAC Day with a special assembly, welcoming veteran Hank Riedstra as our guest. Mr Riedstra, one of Australia’s 15,300 national servicemen who served in the Vietnam War, shared his experiences and reflections, providing students with a meaningful insight into courage, sacrifice, and the importance of remembering our history.
School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) play a vital role in our school community. By assisting teachers with classroom activities and supporting students with additional learning needs, they help ensure every student can access learning, participate fully, and thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Canley Vale High School hosted its 2025 Swimming Carnival, bringing students together for a day of fun, competition, and school spirit. Students showcased their skills in the pool, cheered on their peers, and celebrated teamwork and participation, creating a memorable event that highlighted both sporting talent and community engagement.
Canley Vale High School hosted ten students from South Korea, Years 7–11, as part of a DE International study tour. Paired with our SRC students, they joined classes and took part in fun, hands-on activities across PE, Textiles, Commerce, and STEM, enjoying a week of cultural exchange and learning.
Students proudly represented Canley Vale High School in the Pulse Alive drama program, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and performance skills. Their participation highlighted the talent and enthusiasm of our young performers and brought our school community’s spirit to the stage.
